Program

Start with Windows If you want SonicHANDY to run automatically when you log in to Windows, check this option.

Auto check for program updates Enable this option if you want SonicHANDY to automatically check for updates approximately once a day. Internet connection is required.

Prompt before program exit You can direct SonicHANDY to prompt you for confirmation before exiting the program.

Minimize on close If enabled, SonicHANDY won't exit when you try to close it, but minimize itself instead. To close the program, go to File/Exit menu command.

Show Window hotkey (Ctrl+Shift+S) When pressed, this global hotkey acts like a click on the program's status area icon. If you have a new message or call waiting, it will be displayed. If not, SonicHANDY window will be displayed. You can disable hotkey by unchecking this option.

Write a Message hotkey (Ctrl+Shift+W) When pressed, this global hotkey opens up the Send a message dialog. You can disable hotkey by unchecking this option.

ESC key action in main window You can choose whether pressing ESC key within the program will minimize the program, exit the program, or neither.

Status area You can control the display of the status area icon. SonicHANDY will always minimize to status area icon unless you choose to disable it completely. Status area icon will notify you when new messages arrive, or you have a call. This notifications can be disabled if desired. It also informs you when all your devices are disconnected. Status area icon is very useful for quick access to SonicHANDY.

Pop-up window for incoming calls This pop-up (or 'Photocall') window informs you who is calling you: displays a phone number, device and duration, and (if set) shows a picture of the person who is calling.

Show Contact picture preview Enable if you want an enlarged preview of contact picture to display when you hover a mouse over it.

Show Device picture preview Enable if you want an enlarged preview of device picture to display when you hover a mouse over it.

Show grid in lists If checked, a grid will be shown in messages lists and contacts list, for easier visual tracking of items.

Status area notifications Notifications are baloon-like popup messages displayed near the status area of desktop, which inform you of events. Uncheck option to disable particular type of notifications.

Emoticons Graphical emoticons (smileys) can be displayed instead of certain character combinations, for example :-), or when an EMS message is received. You can enable or disable this behaviour, and also control the size of graphical emoticons. Emoticons inside EMS messages are usually animated, but you can also choose to disable animation.

Miscellaneous

Auto load Archive If checked, Archive contents will always be loaded upon program startup. If you want to save some system memory, you can disable automatic loading and insted instruct the program to load the Arcihive when you want to. When this field is grayed, Archive will be loaded the first time it is being used inside the program ('on demand') - for example when you click the 'Archive' button on toolbar.

Power saving when user idle Helps conserve device battery power by querying it less frequently after PC is inactive longer then 10 minutes.

Automatically add phonebook entries to Contacts Copies entries from device phonebook automatically to SonicHANDY local Contacts. Leave this field grayed to enable per-device setting of this behaviour.

Message sending pause Gives you the chance to cancel already initiated message delivery by waiting chosen number of seconds before actually sending the message.

Startup password You can set up a program startup password that you will be asked for each time you launch SonicHANDY. If a password entered is incorrect, the program exits immediately and doesn't allow any kind of usage.
